Nevada elections officials should be investigating addresses on voter registration to determine whether the person actually resides at the address, whether anyone resides at the address, etc.;   phony addresses on the Voter Roll in Washoe county include the Nevada Gaming Control Board, liquor stores, parking lots, tattoo parlors, demolished buildings... But does the person registered actually reside there? What have elections officials done to conscientiously check/verify? "The Wall Street Journal has an article this week on the grim job market for computer science majors.   Students were told the myths about the great shortage of computer workers and they responded by flocking to computer science programs.   Now they are discovering that the shortage claims were a sham when they apply for after-graduation jobs..."
John Miano is correct (and a very good guy)... except... he is using numbers from DHS USCIS. USCIS is supposed to be screening/ vetting visa applicants & employer/sponsors, cross-checking information submitted & verbal answers in 2-5 minute applicant interviews. USCIS reports the numbers approved within a certain major sub-set. But generally USCIS management seems to focus on keeping the rubber stamp approval "work-flow" at near maximum speed, & not asking "too many" questions, & not checking the answers "too carefully" or deeply against reality; USCIS raises have been delayed, promotions blocked for inspectors who spot "too many" signs of contradiction & ask for "too much" additional documentation or clarification. "Too many" can often mean 1 or 2. "Too carefully" generally seems to mean "at all". "Too much" can be 1 or 2 documents. The focus is speed. Stringency is strongly discouraged. Higher numbers approved per day, month, year are strongly encouraged & rewarded if rare media reports & whistle-blower leaks are any indication.
There are also blanket exemptions and specific exemptions to the 65K H-1B visa "limit"/ "cap"/ "maximum" to which he refers. The State Department issues the actual visas. In the 2019-10-01 through 2020-09-30 fiscal year, State Department issued 124,983 H-1B visas, 126,066 H-1 visas, and 468,123 H guest-work visas of all kinds, as Wuhan coronavirus/ covid-19/ SARS-cov-2/ ncov/ novel Betacoronavirus/ Pelosi/ BiteMe/ Cuomo disease 🦠 hysteria ramped up. In fiscal year 2020-2021, they issued 61,569 H-1B visas (the the previous time they issued fewer than 65K H-1B visas was fiscal year 1995-10-01 through 1996-09-30, when they gave out 58,327). In fiscal year 2021-2022 they issued 206,002 H-1B visas. And in fiscal year 2022-2023 they issued 265,777 H-1B visas. That is more than 4 times the soft aim of 65K first explicitly mentioned in the statute & much ballyooed... but more clearly reflects the boost in supply of "temporary" H-1B guest-workers.
The head-line time limit is 3 years isn't all that temporary, but, even so, generous extensions are available. It appears that time-limit enforcement is not especially faithful nor conscientious, either. But it is a little more conscientious than the wink wink numerical "limits" for numbers of visas issued.
NCES Digest of Educational Statistics reports that in the 2020-2021 academic year, a total of 104,883 computer and information sciences bachelor degrees were awarded, 10,790 to non-citizens.   In the 2021-2022 academic year, a total of 108,503; 10,733 to non-citizens.

One point of disagreement: tens of thousands of students learn STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) without a university degree, more tens of thousands of students get STEM degrees but cannot buy a job interview. (NSF once reported that 40% of math, science, & computer professionals had less than a bachelor's degree.) I've worked with some great system developers with Ph.D.s, and with high school students who were excellent developers of commercial computer software products.   There are the now legendary examples of Bill Gates (king of manureware), and Steve Jobs (more designer than implementer) and Steve Wozniak (mostly an electronics designer who could work wonders with cheap/standard components & write up a bit of software, too).  
There is a lot of tutorial material on-line of widely varying quality, and book-stores and libraries still carry books on these topics (though disgustingly few)... but, in general, you have to have the cash for a system to let you begin to work... or entree at a company that does...   That said, your point about the rotten morals and ethics being distributed at colleges and universities is largely correct. Mark Zuckerberg and many other immoral tech tyrants got their starts in over-glorified universities. OTOH, the "Palestinians" and Illiberal Leftist/ Dem/ Red/ Regressive/ Socialist/ Fascist/ Nazi/ Marxist/ Communist/ Bolshevik/ Stalinist/ Maoist/ Collectivist/ Keynesian/ Neo-Keynesian professors & graduate students I met at university, convinced me that their positions were/are incorrect and need to be countered.
