Trump needs to be ready for gathering storm over H-1B guest-work visas for cheap, young, low-skilled foreign labor with flexible ethics
The initial duration of an H-1B visa classification is 3 years, after which a visa grantee may apply for it to be extended for 3 more years. But, often, if the grantee has applied for a green card/LPR visa before the end of the extension, they can apply for additional year-to-year extensions. In practice, they often get a total of 8-9 years, but the rules are such that there is no actual hard-and-fast limit.
Several STEM & labor economics professors have reported a suspicious pattern of USA citizen STEM pros being pushed out when they reach the age of 35... just about the time many are beginning to recognize in which kinds of roles & tasks they become most fully alive & productive. There have always been many better USA citizen programmers than Bill Gates or Paul Allen or Paul Jacobs, and many many more of a middling sort who can still do better professional work than what still shows in MSFT Windoze or iOS or that CopyLeftist trash. They are not concentrated in Sili Valley or Everett, but scattered throughout the USA, from Minneapolis-St.Paul & Chippewa Falls to Kansas & Missouri & Michigan & Ohio to Vermont & New Hampshire to Boston to Pittsburgh to Philadelphia to Tennessee to Research Triangle Park to Rats Mouth Florida.
Yes, the policies and statutes make a gesture toward not displacing USA citizen STEM professionals, but that is all, empty gestures. There is no test, there is no requirement for employers to advertise job openings widely within the USA, where USA citizen STEM professionals might see the ads and apply. There is no enforcement mechanism to require that able and willing USA citizens get anything resembling an equal chance. OTOH, HR software & practice has developed rapidly to filter USA citizen applicants out (whether it is a USA citizen competing with an H-1B applicant, with a gigger/ bodyshop/ contract/ consulting/ temp outfit that aims to hire and contract out guest-workers in exchange for a big churn & cut of the cash. Many USA citizen STEM professionals who have sued have been told they lack standing.
H-1B & H-1B1 visas are not limited to those with a high level of skills. No measurement of skill levels is required. Dozens of examples of fraud have shown that little background investigation is conducted on H-1B visa applicant. Credentials have been fabricated, as have class standings. In quite a few cases, friends and associates have covered for less-knowledgeable, less-skilled individuals on H-1B visas, doing some of their work for them & training them. Some companies have been challenged for not only discriminating against able and willing USA citizens, but for favoring members of one cast over those of other casts, people from one particular city or region over those from another.
These visas came into being because of the desire for cheap, pliant labor. The USA education & training systems of the late 1980s were doing fine, turning out thousands of able and willing STEM professionals. Hundreds of USA citizen high school students and college under-grads were productively employed STEM professionals.
The disagreement over the abuses of H-1B visas has been going on since at least the middle-1990s. It's been ugly all along, with the usual misrepresentations, propagandizing, abuse of the language to deceive. Frankly, when I first heard people's objections, I thought they were xenophobes. It's only by peeling back the layers that the reality can bee clearly seen.
Engineering, architecture, medicine, physics, mapping/GIS, biochemistry, inorganic chemistry are all very interesting to many USA citizens, from grade-school through graduate school & beyond.

Soo, DHS USCIS can't be bothered to run proper background investigations on visa applicants, but DHS TSA can, without warrants, violate USA citizens' privacy & liberty.
The information does NOT belong to the feral federal government, nor the feral state government, nor to the business. It belongs to the individual, who should be able to specify the purpose for which it may be used, for a specific time-span, and then it MUST be deleted. Not optional. And whichever operator or agent or manager or executive who does not comply with those restrictions can have his/her vehicle, home, shirt, pants, shoes, & socks sued off of him/her at $20 in court costs.

But they also ignore the life experience of millions of MAGA [USA citizens] who noticed that not only is our educational system garbage, but [had noticed the] systemic prejudice against regular [USA citizens], both in the colleges that operate as a gateway to employment and with the HR departments of the [immoral tech tyrant] companies [whose perverted ethics, a reflection of those of sheisters, says it's great to produce shoddy software, great to violate USA citizens' privacy, great to violate USA citizens' liberty, great to drain & dump young USA citizens, which has been heavily documented over the last few decades] but there are a lot of lived experience stories of regular Americans who just can’t seem to catch a break and claim to have been replaced by clannish [well, caste loyalty] foreigners who seem to hold them in contempt [because we let them snooker us for a couple years in the 1990s before mounting any defenses.

Leg press 500 pounds, squat 375, read 1200 words per minute, 100-150 volumes per year, medical journals, economic journals (over the last 72 hours or so). This after more than 150 years of racism, blocking anyone else to get on ballots. Blocking people from running as a write-in because it is remotely, theoretically possible to get a non-collectivist candidate's name printed on ballots, and besides, if they can't get their names on the ballot over the extreme hurdles, they can run as write-ins (loop around those cases a few times as I did in the law library & state archives across from the capitol this time of year several decades back). That, and the county supervisor of elections informing me that if I did NOT register as affiliated with the Illiberal Leftist/ Dem/ Red/ Regressive/ Socialist/ Fascist/ Nazi/ Marxist/ Communist/ Bolshevik/ Stalinist/ Maoist/ Collectivist party, I wouldn't get a chance to vote on most issues & election contests. She was telling the truth. If one of their party got a majority of their party's votes, that was the end in the primary; those contests didn't appear on the general election ballot for people of other party affiliations to vote on.
